Blevo Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 30, 2026
This policy explains what data Blevo collects, why we collect it, and
what control you have over it. The short version: we collect only what we
need to make leaderboards, challenges, and your account work. We do not
sell your data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not share it
with third parties for their own purposes.
Who runs Blevo
Blevo is operated by {{LEGAL_ENTITY_NAME}} (the
"operator"). If you have a privacy question or want to exercise
any of the rights below, email privacy@blevo.app.
What we collect
When you sign up and use Blevo, we collect the following:
- Account identifiers — a handle, a display name, and
(if you choose Sign in with Apple) an email address relay or your real
email if you opt to share it. We use these to identify your account
and let other users find you.
- Step counts and fitness data — daily totals from
Apple HealthKit that you authorize Blevo to read. We never receive
your raw per-minute samples. We only see what you ask the app to send
when you sync.
- Content you create — posts, comments, story bodies,
direct messages, squad names, and challenge titles. We store these
on our servers so other users can see them as you intend.
- Device + technical metadata — your iOS version, app
version, time zone, and approximate session timing. We use this to
fix bugs and understand which features get used.
- GPS route — only while you are actively recording a
run, walk, or ride. Tracking continues in the background (locked screen
or other apps) until you finish the session, so your full route, distance,
and pace are captured; iOS shows a blue indicator the whole time. We store
the route so you can view your map and stats. We never track your location
outside a session you started.
- Shared location — if you tap "Share location" in a
club chat, your current location at that moment is posted to that club
and is visible on a map to the other members of that club. This is a
one-time action you take explicitly; we do not track or share your
location in the background.
We do not collect:
- Your location outside of an active run/walk/ride session — except the
one-time location you choose to share into a club chat (see above).
- Your contacts, photos, or files.
- Browsing history or activity in other apps.
- Advertising identifiers (IDFA).
- Payment-card numbers — purchases go through Apple's IAP, we only
see receipt confirmations.
How we use it
- To run the social features you signed up for: showing your steps to
other users in challenges and squads you've joined, sending the
messages you write, and surfacing your stories to the people you
chose to share them with.
- To keep the service working: prevent abuse, throttle bad actors,
detect crashes, and improve performance.
- To send you notifications you've opted into (streak reminders,
challenge updates, direct messages).
Who can see your data
- Other Blevo users see your handle, name, avatar,
your post and story content, and your step totals inside any
challenge or squad you've joined. They do not see your email.
- Our infrastructure providers (the hosting service
that runs our servers, and the third-party services listed below)
process data on our behalf under contracts that bind them to use it
only for the service we hired them for.
- No one else. We do not sell your data to anyone,
ever. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it to train
AI models.
Third-party services we use
- Apple HealthKit — reads step data from your phone
only with your explicit permission. Subject to
Apple's privacy policy.
- Sentry (crash reporting) — receives anonymized
crash stack traces and your user ID when an error happens. No message
bodies, no health data.
- PostHog (product analytics) — receives anonymized
event names like "challenge_joined" or "story_posted" tied to your
user ID, so we can see which features get used. You can opt out in
Settings → Privacy.
- Stripe / Cashfree (payment processing) — only
invoked when you purchase coins. They see the transaction; we see a
confirmation.
Your rights
- Access — email privacy@blevo.app
and we'll send you everything we have on file within 30 days.
- Delete — tap Settings → Account → Delete Account.
Your data enters a 7-day grace period and is then permanently
erased. If you sign back in during the grace period the deletion is
cancelled automatically. (Required by App Store guideline 5.1.1(v).)
- Correct — change your handle, display name, and
avatar inside the app any time. For anything else, email us.
- Opt out of analytics — Settings → Privacy →
Product analytics → off. This stops PostHog event collection
immediately.
- Withdraw HealthKit access — iOS Settings → Health
→ Data Access & Devices → Blevo → revoke. The app stops syncing
immediately.
How long we keep it
- Account data — for as long as your account is
active.
- Step buckets — indefinitely while your account is
active; deleted with your account.
- Messages and posts — until you delete them or
delete your account.
- Server logs — 30 days, then aggregated and
truncated.
- Crash reports — 90 days at Sentry, then auto-purged.
Children
Blevo is rated 4+ but is not directed at children under 13. We do not
knowingly collect data from users we identify as under 13. If you believe
we've collected data from a child, email
privacy@blevo.app and we'll delete
it within 7 days.
International transfers
Our servers run in {{HOSTING_REGION}}. If you use Blevo
from outside that region, your data crosses borders to reach us. By using
the app you consent to this transfer. For users in the EU/UK we rely on
the EU Standard Contractual Clauses with our infrastructure providers.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the
top and, for material changes, notify you in-app before they take effect.
